P.L. 80-447 (1948): “Be it enacted ... that on and within roads, parks, parkways, and other Federal reservations in the environs of the District of Columbia over which the United States has, or shall hereafter acquire, exclusive or concurrent jurisdiction, the several members of the United States Park Police force shall have the power and authority to make arrests.... Such police officers shall also have the power upon such roads and within such parks, parkways, and other reservations to execute any warrant or other process…. For the purposes of this Act, the environs of the District of Columbia are hereby defined as embracing Arlington and Fairfax Counties and the city of Alexandria, Virginia, and Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery Counties in Maryland.”
